View larger. | Inspires and Delights Babies with Motion, Lights, and Music Your baby will enjoy making the Songs 'n Smiles Sillytown come to life with peek-and-pop delights, colorful lights, stacking play, tumble-down fun, and silly music. Eight action blocks with over 16 songs and sounds will keep your child entertained. With lots of building surfaces, babies can learn to stack blocks and watch as friendly faces pop up. It may be difficult for younger babies to stack the blocks, but once they get the hang of it, they can build blocks up on the tower and press the lever to make them tumble down with silly sounds. Or they can put a car block on the ramp and press the lever to watch it roll down. They can also spin the roller to see a whole block family popping and bopping to music, or lift the door on the storage bin for open-and-close, put-and-take musical fun. Loved by Babies and Parents Alike With no small parts or sharp corners, Songs 'n Smiles Sillytown is a toy parents can feel confident giving to their child. The blocks are just the right size for little hands, and once assembled, this activity center is pretty sturdy -- just keep an eye on the security of the joints where the major components snap into place. Sillytown features a built-in storage bin. Parents will love how the bin keeps everything neat and tidy for storage. Parents will also appreciate the power switch with volume control. Parents can choose low volume or high volume or you can turn the power off completely -- a great battery-saving feature. The toy is easy to maintain -- just wipe the toy with a clean cloth dampened with a mild soap and water solution. Encourages Developing Skills The Stack 'n Surprise Blocks Songs 'n Smiles Sillytown encourages your baby's muscle coordination by enhancing fine motor skills as your baby grasps and stacks blocks and spins the roller. It also encourages hand-eye coordination as your baby learns to place blocks on nubs, press levers, and more. Additionally, this toy will arouse children's sense of discovery. They will learn cause and effect and will develop thinking skills as they stack blocks and anticipate surprises. Also, Sillytown will stimulate Children's senses with bright colors, smiling faces, pop-up action, and dancing lights, as well as music and sounds that support auditory development. She loves it July 28, 2010 M. Dani Borton (Orlando, FL) My daughter and her little friend love this toy. I've had it for over 7 months and it's still all there and she still plays with it everyday.
Frustration-free packaging rocks! July 8, 2010 G. Metnitzer I loved the fact that I had the choice between the regular packaging and the Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging. The toy just arrived in a simple cardboard box, that you can put to recycling again. Usually you get the packages where the toy is secured with a gazillion plastic straps and it takes a long time to free all parts.
The toy itself requires some assembly, but its fairly easy to put together. It is very colorful and the friendly faces are appealing. It can do some tricks and the music is short and not too annoying, like on other toys that can pull on parents nerves. My daughter got it when she was 9 months and she liked to manipulate the different handles and shake the little blocks. Now she is almost 13 months and it is not her most favorite toy anymore, but she still comes back to it. Now she uses it more as a step while trying to escape from her playpen.
Son's favorite toy June 1, 2010 Jennifer We bought this toy recently at a local toy store after my 7 month old son played with it at a family member's house. He loves it! He just sits in front of this thing and bats at it and just grins! So cute! This would be an ideal toy for any child once they learn to sit up. Right now he just loves to mouth the little blocks, roll the little wheel that makes the music start, and knock down any towers his father or I create (with such zeal too!). He should grow into the toy over the next year as he learns to stack the blocks and use some of the more "advanced" features of the toys like making the car go down the slide and putting the blocks in their storage bin. Again, I couldn't recommend this toy more!
Great toy with sights and sounds that delight a young toddler. May 14, 2010 Smart Suzie (Michigan) Gave this toy as a gift to my grand daughter when she was only 3 months old. She has been able to play with it since six months. In her play area she was able to sit initially and drive the little cars around, make them disappear into the unit and turn on the music. A great toy. Versatile and durable. Parts are big enough that they don't get lost. Now that she is walking it is even more fun for her. She has sat on it and it did not show any stress. The little cars pop up and down with the music (like a whack a mole) and they roll down the slide. Fun for all.
lots to do but tip hazard May 11, 2010 S. Johnson (St. Louis, MO United States) Put this up against a wall. My 8-10 month old who tries to stand on everything stands at it, and it tips over. Picture shows child behind sillytown playing but not realistic. Child would play from in front, with it against wall. It is fun. The music is short like someone said but it's easy to start. Music plays with roller in front of orange piece, and also very short music plays when you press lever on right or lift blue lid on left. It takes 12 phillips screws to put together (included). My son really likes it for the noise and he likes to mouth the figures. It does not have volume control which is annoying. The ramp with car is cute but my baby does not quite get it yet. He does spin the roller and press the right lever a lot. The right lever makes a figure fall down which he likes. But I have to set up the figures and he knocks them down now. He really doesn't set them up yet. I assume he will when he gets older. I think he will play with it for a while. He loves to stand at it, and it's pretty good for that since I have it against a wall. The block figures are cute. They make a great racket when you shake or simply play with them.
